Tunesday collects information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, post content, or communicate with us. This includes:
- Account information (username, email, display name, profile picture, bio)
- Music preferences, song selections, and pinned favorite tracks
- Posts, comments, replies, likes, and social interactions
- Direct messages you send and receive, including text and shared songs
- Audio recordings when you share 30-second voice notes about songs
- Push notification preferences and device tokens for Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Friend connections, requests, and blocking preferences
- Content reporting and moderation interactions
- Emotional vibes and mood tags associated with your music posts
Music Service Integration
Tunesday works with Spotify and Apple Music through direct links and redirects. We do not access private account data.
- Search public music catalogs
- Generate links to songs on your preferred platform
- Open songs directly in your music apps
- Smart platform detection for seamless music sharing
No personal listening data is collected or stored from music services.
Voice Notes and Audio Data
When you record 30-second voice notes about your music choices:
- Audio files are securely stored and associated with your posts
- Voice notes are shared according to your privacy settings
- You can delete voice notes at any time
- Audio data is not used for voice recognition or analysis
Direct Messages
Tunesday includes a direct messaging feature that allows users to send private messages and share songs with each other.
- Message content (text and shared songs) is stored on our servers to deliver conversations across devices
- Messages are accessible to both participants in a conversation
- Message requests from users you don't follow require your approval before a conversation begins
- You can react to messages with emoji reactions; reactions are visible to both participants
- You can reply to specific messages; reply context is stored alongside the message
- You can mute conversations or leave them at any time
- Deleting a message removes it from your view but may still be visible to the other participant
- Conversations are retained after you leave them for platform safety and moderation purposes
- If a message is reported for violating our guidelines, its content may be reviewed by our moderation team
- We do not read your private messages except when required to investigate a reported message or comply with applicable law

- To provide and improve our voice-powered music sharing service
- To enable music search and discovery across Spotify and Apple Music
- To send you weekly reminder notifications on Tuesdays at 12pm EST
- To enable social features like friend requests, following, commenting, and liking
- To send push notifications for likes, comments, replies, mentions, and friend requests
- To provide curated music recommendations on Fridays at 12pm EST
- To enable @mention functionality and replies in comments
- To moderate content and handle user reports for inappropriate behavior
- To manage user blocking and privacy controls
- To maintain pinned songs and music trends on user profiles
Push Notifications
We send push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to keep you connected with your music community:
- Weekly music sharing reminders every Tuesday at 12pm EST
- Curated music discovery every Friday at 12pm EST
- Activity notifications when friends like your posts or comment
- Reply notifications when someone responds to your comments
- Mention notifications when friends tag you with @username
- Friend request notifications
- Direct message notifications when you receive a new message or message request
You can control notification preferences, including DM notifications, in your app settings.
Content Moderation & User Safety
Tunesday provides comprehensive tools for user safety and content moderation:
- Report inappropriate posts, comments, or user behavior
- Report direct messages that violate our community guidelines
- Block users to prevent them from seeing your content or interacting with you
- Friend request system to control who can connect with you
- Privacy controls to manage who can see your posts and profile information
- Content reporting is reviewed by our moderation team
- Reported content, including reported messages, may be reviewed and removed if it violates our community guidelines
Advertising
Tunesday displays ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect and use:
- Device identifiers (such as advertising ID)
- Coarse location (country/region level, not precise location)
- App usage and interaction data for ad measurement
- IP address for fraud prevention and ad delivery
This data is collected and processed by Google LLC under their own Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and on Android via Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information:
- With other users according to your privacy settings and friend connections
- With service providers who assist in operating our app (Supabase for database and storage, Firebase for push notifications)
- With Google AdMob for advertising and ad measurement as described in the Advertising section above
- When required by law or to protect our rights and user safety
- For push notification delivery through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- For content moderation when reports are submitted

You have comprehensive control over your data and privacy:
- Access and download your data including posts, comments, and voice notes
- Correct inaccurate profile information and account details
- Delete your account and all associated data permanently
- Control your music sharing preferences and post visibility
- Manage push notification settings for all notification types, including direct message notifications
- Delete individual voice notes, posts, and comments
- Delete individual messages from your view or leave conversations entirely
- Block and unblock users as needed
- Manage friend connections and requests
- Report content, users, or messages for inappropriate behavior
- Control who can see your pinned songs and music trends
